AMELIA EARHART ONCE LIVED IN TORONTO’S ST. REGIS HOTEL, 392 SHERBOURNE STREET

The blue plaque tells us that the famous aviatrix AMELIA EARHART spent two years in TORONTO working as a nurse’s aide with the Canadian Red Cross at the Spadina Military Convalescent Hospital attending to “the walking wounded” of World War I.

From 1917-1919 she lived at the St. Regis Hotel, 392 Sherborune Street, since demolished and replaced by a high-rise apartment building.
