DERECK REVINGTON’S ‘LUMINOUS VEIL’ ON THE PRINCE EDWARD VIADUCT – BY STEVEN EVANS

GetInline-1Ahead of this summer’s Pan American Games, $2.8-million was found to light up the Prince Edward Viaduct, which spans the Don River Valley connecting Bloor Street East to the Danforth. This was no ordinary lighting job. Artist DERECK REVINGTON’s vision: a 450-metre-long, LED-based lighting system that reacts to changes in wind speed and shifts colours according to the season.

TORONTO photographer STEVEN EVANS took in the light show last night, and sent us these two images.

GetInline(As the Viaduct is on my regular jogging route, I look forward to those dark winter nights when the lights are on and the wind is blowing.)
