A cutting-edge new building is about to start construction next to Sugar Beach on TORONTO’s waterfront. The project, on former industrial lands, will anchor this city’s place in North America’s high tech sector. We’re #3, behind New York and San Francisco. It’s estimated that 2,000 information/technology employees will work in the building. At the heart of the Waterfront Innovation Centre is an ultra-high-speed broadband fibre-optic network, delivering Waterfront-wide internet connection speeds exponentially faster than the North American average. In line to benefit from this new building and its attendant facilities – film and television post-production companies, health care professionals, digital animators, and companies focused on sharing very large sets of data in real time. Development of the Waterfront Innovation Centre is targeted to begin in late 2016, once approvals are secured.<IMAGES – Waterfront Innovation Centre – Menkes Developments Ltd., CNW Group, Waterfront Toronto>
Wow. This is going to rival Michael Wekerle’s project in Waterloo. Time to buy Toronto real estate!
