Canada’s Polar Regions assert themselves: we’re in the deep freeze @ -25C; windchill -41C

WHITECHRISTMASTO <PHOTO ABOVE – TORONTO after December’s ice storm, by Scott Rogers/>  This morning, January 7/2014, Torontonians awoke to temperatures of -25C with a windchill of -41C.  Two weeks after a devastating ice storm, we’re back in the Arctic freezer again, along with three-quarters of the country and a large swath of the United States.  Is this a fluke, or is this the future?

Yesterday DA MAO, one of the giant pandas at TORONTO’s Zoo, played in the snow.  He was absolutely loving it.  Footage is available on the CP24 website or YouTube.
