Who’s new at the Zoo? Mstari (mi-starry), the 17th Masai giraffe born at Toronto Zoo

The latest star attraction at Toronto’s Zoo, Mstari (which means ‘stripes’ in Swahili), is a baby Masai giraffe, born in the last part of 2013.  Because the Toronto Zoo is part of the Masai Giraffe Species Survival Plan (SSP), this young female calf is very important to the North American captive population.  <PHOTO – Ken Ardill, Toronto Zoo>  See more at: http://www.animalfactguide.com/2013/11/masai-giraffe-calf-at-toronto-zoo/#sthash.ysuZ82tk.dpuf
