TORONTO is the only Canadian city on The Economist’s ‘top 10 liveability list’.

VANCOUVER isn’t on the list, and neither is MELBOURNE.  But guess who’s there . . .  T-O-R-O-N-T-O!

World’s Most Liveable Cities, according to The Economist magazine, July 4/2012:
1.  Hong Kong
2.  Amsterdam
3.  Osaka
4.  Paris
5.  Sydney
6.  Stockholm
7.  Berlin
8.  TORONTO
9.  Munich
10.  Tokyo

75% of a city’s score is made up of stability, healthcare, culture and environment, education and infrastructure.

TORONTO was ranked highly because of the amount of greenspace within its borders and its lack of pollution.  We lost points because of urban sprawl and a lack of cultural assets compared to the European cities.
