MaRS gets bigger . . . College Street at University Avenue
MaRS (Medical and Related Sciences) occupies a full block on the edge of TORONTO’s medical Discovery District. This not-for-profit corporation, founded in 2000, commercializes publicly funded medical research in a private-public partnership. The centre of the complex is a wing of the old Toronto General Hospital.
A modern office and laboratory complex, now occupied, will eventually be connected to a new 20 storey tower, due for completion in 2013. More than 2300 people work in the buildings, and it’s conveniently close to Queen’s Park and several major hospitals. http://www.marsdd.com
